League - La Liga
La Liga is a top professional football league in Spain. It is
contested by 20 teams, with the three lowest placed teams relegated to
the Segunda División and replaced by the top three teams in that
division. A total of 58 teams have competed in La Liga, nine of which
have been crowned champions. The most successful team in that league is
Real Madrid, with 31 wins. Also Real Madrid is current winner of a
Spanish league 2007-2008. FC Barcelona it is second most successful team
in that league with 18 wins.
UEFA Champions League:
Champions League is seasonal club football competition organized by
UEFA since 1992, for most successful clubs in Europe. The prize, the
European Champion Clubs' Cup, the most prestigious club trophy in the
sport. It is contested by 76 or 77 teams in total. In group is about 32
teams. The title has held by 21 different teams and 12 of it won more
then once. The most successful club is Real Madrid with 9 wins, and the
current champion of 2007-2008 season is Manchester United.
Spanish Cup:
The competition was first played in 1902 after Carlos Padrós, later
president of Madrid FC, suggested a football competition to celebrate
the coronation of Alfonso XIII. It is competition for teams from upper
and lower divisions will get to play against each other but the number
of clubs allowed to participate is restricted. The most successful team
in that competition is FC Barcelona, with 24 wins. The current champion
in 2008 is Valencia CF.
